We all know that leading with authentic generosity is the best way to attract attention. That said, lookin' good never hurt! I asked for a few pointers from Keith to spruce my visual presentation. Here's his list:
- If you can only afford one pair of shoes, go with matte black - they're the most versatile.
- Once you find something that works - be it color, brand, shoes, or a particular hairstyle - stick with it. It'll make your life easier and give you a consistent "look."
- Tailor your shirts. It makes ALL the difference.
- Own 2 custom, fitted suits.
- Cultivate the posture of Jane Fonda - and if you need to improve yours, Google "Alexander Method."
- Never run - it signals you're not in control of a situation.

Thanks for the tips!
#3 and #4 are great for men ... how about throwing out two substitutes for #3 and #4 for us women?
Tami, as Keith's (female) managing editor, I'll take that one:
3) Use an iron, even if it means you'll be 5 minutes late.
4) Get your pants custom hemmed so that they're the right length - and don't try to wear the same pants you wear with heels with flats, or vice versa.
and actually another one:
5) If you're on a tight budget, cut all the junk buys and structure your wardrobe around a couple new and fabulous pieces every season - it's a good way to get bang for your buck.
#3) lose weight, then tailor shirts and suits. :)
In my early 20's, when I didn't even remotely understand weight gain challenges, I did this with my military uniforms. And yes, it does make a difference in that case.
I am going to agree with Sara on her suggestion for #5. Several years ago, I switched from buying multiple, no-brand items of clothing (which always made my closet look full, but never made me feel good), to a few, well-made, then-tailored classic items. My closet doesn't look as full, but at least I know that when I choose something, it will look good and I *always* feel good with what I am wearing.
Women should get their clothes tailored. I am short and I always have to tailor blouses and pants to get them to fit right. It makes all the difference in the world. Tailor, tailor, tailor!!!!
