Ask for others tips for a successful dinner party.
For instance, once married to a federal judge (still a dear friend) I started giving dinner parties so as to have a happy alternative to to law-dominated discussions.
Tip: pick people with different occupations/ industries - yet a central thread - perhaps interest in world travel. Don't have to tell them of that thread. They may discover it themselves
Great post, Keith! I live in a small, one-bedroom condo in Washington, DC. The table only seats 5 or 6, and due to space constraints, I have to borrow a mish-mash of chairs from neighbors; in one case, a guest had to bring her own chair! This adds to the relaxed atmosphere.
Tip: People will remember the end of the evening more than anything else, so always plan a backup dessert! You want guests to linger over wine, coffee, etc. so prepare a "regular" dessert and then something to keep the conversation going, such as a cheese platter. Unshelled walnuts are also fun, since people enjoy passing along the nutcracker, joking about grip strength, etc.
Good evening to you. I found this blog post quite informative. My husband have been searching for this type of post for the longest time and We know that your thought on the issue is right. We will be sure to suggest your blog post to my friends. Can you tell me how to follow this site's new RSS feed? Keep making articles!
