Keith,

Great post - and promising book. I would offer the following abbreviation which I put to memory about 25 years ago. It has (and does help) - but it is also challenging for all of the reasons/battles Rick suggests.

"I am a free-willed, intelligent human being - with the power to chose thought."

"Everything follows thought - therefore I am the cause of my own experience."

Believing that is hard work - but worthy of a life's work.

Thanks for all your inspiration and hope - past, present and future!

Keith,

Thanks for this post. This actually represents where I am right now and after reading this, I'm definitely going to pick up the book and I am going to take "the leap."

Like Rick Smith says, I've been struggling with myself and I recognize that I have the talent and wherewithal within me to make it work, but I've been beating myself up and holding myself back.

By the way, "Never Eat Alone" too is changing my life in a positive way, and I have "Who's Got Your Back" to read once I'm done with that.

Thanks!

This is a great post. Yes, fear is THE number one reason that we do not go after and accomplish our goals. Fear of the unknown, fear of failure. It is true we do wage psychological warfare with ourselves.

"Above all else, remember this: whatever traps we may feel stuck in are largely of our own making. What we have built we can also undo. What we can dream we can achieve."

Your advice is spot on! Thank you for sharing this.

Cheers!
