Hi, thanks for sharing the knowledge!

My question is in a way related to Ann's just above me. However mine is kind the same way, how to ask a female coworker for a drink without her thinking its something else than friendship? She has an issue for instance about driving (was in an accident) and I want to talk with her about it to see if that would help, since her fear of driving is preventing from moving up in the job.

Any ideas?

Thanks again!

Hi Keith,

I am a big admirer of your work. Reading your book "Never Eat Alone" changed my life...it was like having a mentor share invaluable advice and guidance. I am currently reading "Who's got your back" and relishing the wisdom on every page! I have two questions and would greatly appreciate your advice on these. Being a young woman in a primarily male dominated industry, I always feel like my male colleagues have a leg up with establishing informal relationships with senior executives. I feel weird asking a senior male executive out for a drink or dinner where as they have no issues doing that and even pat each other on their back as buddies. 1) Should I be asking these male senior executives/mentors out for dinner? 2) Who pays?

Thank you in advance for taking the time to share your tips and insights.

Keith, Sara

Thanks for your time and openly sharing your thoughts and advice.

If you plan to do these on a regularly may I make a suggestion?

That you make each call 'themed'

eg one about careers and job searching, one about selling & generating referals, one about social media, one aimed purely for entreprenuers, one just for college students and young people...etc etc

It would allow you to go narrow and deep in certain subject matters.

Plus it woukd give you all the questions/problems different groups have got and so allow you to create products and solutions for that group based around the Q&A

You can still do a 15min free for all slot at the start or end of caste if anyone has any burning issues

Just a thought

thanks once again!

I am a principal in a business-to-business company funding source funding startups, emerging and burgeoning b2b companies nation-wide.
I speak regularly about "Unleashing Social Networking to Drive Real Revenue".
I have taken your dinner party idea to 400 plus attendees in some cases. I can trace the traffic to this back to social networking or to normal networking. Through that I know you know I have helped our family's company drive millions in new monthly revenue.
I often get asked when I talk about whether small exclusive groups or large open groups is better. I have found people who have my back and meet with them one-on-one fairly regularly, but I haven't found much benefit in small exclusive groups. Usually I feel used. Instead, I feel like I can help more in the large open networking groups.
What are your thoughts?
Also, while I have 400 showing up at my networking events, we are struggling to get the greenlight community group really off the ground probably for the same reasons. Your advice is appreciated.
I brag about you every time I speak publically, which was twice yesterday in Houston...
